The BSN program at Coastal Georgia is designed for students who desire to complete professional nursing education at the baccalaureate level and enter into professional practice. It provides students with a solid foundation for continuing their nursing education at a graduate level.
Through the unique design of the BSN program at College of Coastal Georgia, students develop and implement health strategies for the coastal community and civic engagement.
The second floor of Miriam and Hugh Nunnally Health and Science Hall is designed to meet the needs of nursing students. The laboratory on the second floor offers state of the art simulation facilities for practice with basic and advanced nursing skills and clinical judgement. Here, students engage in critical thinking through hands-on skill training, collaboration, and high-fidelity simulation sessions designed to meet real-life nursing scenarios that are experienced in practice.
The School of Nursing and Health Sciences has developed important partnerships with a number of healthcare agencies and hospital systems, including Brunswick, Savannah, Waycross, and Camden. Through the College’s available partnerships, students gain a variety of valuable practice experiences.
At least 95 percent of students acquire jobs in healthcare systems within three months of graduation – with many students offered employment prior to graduation.
The curriculum is designed to prepare students for roles in nursing leadership, research, and advanced practice. Upon graduation, students are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). Nurses receive licensure after successfully passing the exam. At least 95 percent of students acquire jobs in the healthcare systems within three months of graduation, with many students offered employment prior to graduation.

Requirements
Dr. Masano earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Mercer University in Macon. She earned her Post Master’s Certification in Health Informatics, her Master of Science in Nursing, and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She is a Certified Nurse Midwife and a Certified Nurse Educator. Dr. Masano has 24 years of experience as an RN, working primarily in obstetrics with additional experience in community health. She has been teaching for 15 years.
