CCGA prepares for Spring Commencement, announces summer schedule

Brunswick, GA – On Sunday, May 7, 2017, the College of Coastal Georgia will hold its Spring Commencement Exercises at 4:00 p.m. at the Jekyll Island Convention Center. Mayor Cornell Harvey, CCGA Assistant Professor of History Dr. Chris Wilhelm, and CCGA alumna Darby Best will bring greetings from the community, faculty and Alumni Association; Rabbi Rachael Bregman will give the invocation; and CCGA President Greg Aloia will give a brief address. Additionally, Grace Branson will sing the National Anthem and Olivia Morton, class of 2017, will give the charge to class.

Approximately 260 graduating seniors will complete their baccalaureate degree programs this spring – 640 degrees were earned this academic year. The most popular majors among graduating seniors are Nursing, Business Administration and Psychology. Bachelor’s degrees to be awarded to students from Coastal’s undergraduate colleges are Arts & Sciences, Education and Teacher Preparation, Business & Public Management, and Nursing & Health Sciences.

Summer 1 Term for the Brunswick and Camden campuses will begin on Monday, June 5; Summer 2 Term will commence on Monday, July 3. Scholarships are still available for Summer and Fall, and a Campus Visit Day tour will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, May 13 for prospective students and their families.
