The College of Coastal Georgia will host its sixth annual campus-wide undergraduate research conference on Friday, May 8. The Symposium on Undergraduate Research and Collaborative Explorations (SOURCE) highlights students’ faculty-mentored research and scholarship. It will be presented in a digital format this year. The digital archive will go live on Friday starting at 10 a.m.

SOURCE promotes the significance of research and scholarship, and enhances the professional skills of students. The collaborative efforts between students and faculty across disciplines will be available for students, faculty, staff, and the community at-large to explore. The symposium will introduce two new submission types—video presentation and narrated PowerPoint—in addition to poster presentations.

Director of Service-Learning and Undergraduate Research Dr. Kimberly Mannahan is not only excited about this year’s format of the symposium, but also impressed by the hard work students put into their research projects.

“We are thrilled to host SOURCE in a digital environment this year. Our students are amazing, and they are conducting impactful research in collaboration with their professors that the world needs to know about,” Mannahan said. “Each year I am impressed with the submissions, but I am especially moved this year, with all the distractions and difficulties associated with the quarantine. I am blown away by the adaptability and enthusiasm our students have exhibited. They are amazing!”
