As more of the U.S. economy’s transactions employ electronic fund transfers and/or virtually (online), the demand grows to build and administer the data management systems that allow these transactions to be initiated and completed. FinTech firms are responsible for the background operations that enable us to use ApplePay and other similar applications. Coastal Georgia’s BBA degree with a concentration in FinTech will provide students with the basic skills and knowledge needed to enter this fast-growing field of finance.
After completing this program, students will be familiar with common FinTech applications for commercial and investment banking, digital investing, financial advising, and insurance. Students will learn about the principles and practices of commercial bank management, bank regulation, and the tradeoffs between risk and return. Students will also learn how to manipulate and interpret data for efficient and effective decision-making, problem identification, and forecasting. Further, students will learn about threats, vulnerabilities, risks, and the controls to handle them. Finally, the program identifies legal, ethical, and compliance issues that arise when working with financial infrastructure in a global economy.
FinTech professionals are key players in growing the economy by building, managing, and monitoring all the background operations necessary to make financial services quick, convenient, reliable, and secure.
