High school sophomores, juniors and seniors, including home-school students, have access to a number of opportunities to enhance their high school curriculum and earn college credit prior to their high school graduation.
Benefits include:
The Dual Enrollment program is a state-funded program for eligible Georgia high school (public, private, and approved home-study) students that provides opportunities for eligible high school students to enroll, earning both high school and college credit via part-time or full-time enrollment. Tuition, books and mandatory fees are paid by the Dual Enrollment program.
Students can enroll only in courses approved by the high school counselor and those listed in the Course Directory, published by the Georgia Student Finance Commission. There is no residency or citizenship requirement to participate in the Dual Enrollment program. However, students must be enrolled at an eligible Georgia high school or approved home-study program.
High school students, including those from Georgia or an out-of-state or approved international institution, may supplement and enhance their high school curriculum by enrolling in college courses as a joint enrollment student. Courses taken through joint enrollment result in college credit. Joint enrollment students are responsible for tuition, books, course-related fees, and all mandatory fees.
