About Dual Enrollment

The Dual Enrollment program is a state-funded program for eligible Georgia high school (public, private, and approved home-study) students that provides opportunities for eligible high school students to enroll, earning both high school and college credit via part-time or full-time enrollment. Tuition, books and mandatory fees are paid by the Dual Enrollment program.

Students can enroll only in courses approved by the high school counselor and those listed in the Course Directory, published by the Georgia Student Finance Commission. There is no residency or citizenship requirement to participate in the Dual Enrollment program. However, students must be enrolled at an eligible Georgia high school or approved home-study program.

About Joint Enrollment

High school students, including those from Georgia or an out-of-state or approved international institution, may supplement and enhance their high school curriculum by enrolling in college courses as a joint enrollment student. Courses taken through joint enrollment result in college credit. Joint enrollment students are responsible for tuition, books, course-related fees, and all mandatory fees.

Windward Scholars

The Windward Scholars Program is reserved for the elite group of students who began their collegiate career as a Dual Enrollment student at the College of Coastal Georgia. Being named a Windward Scholar comes with a number of benefits:

  • Automatic Acceptance into the Fall Cohort: Congratulations, you are in! No additional applications, essays, red-tape, test scores, or paperwork. Your acceptance to the Windward Scholars Program not only guarantees a spot in our fall freshman class, but counts students among the elite in the cohort.
  • Scholarship Opportunities: Students who enroll in this program are eligible for selection as a Rose Scholarship for Windward Scholars recipient. To be eligible for scholarship selection, you must register for orientation by May 1.
  • Exclusive Windward Scholar Orientation: As a Windward Scholar, we realize that what previous dual enrollment students need to know to begin your time as a full-time student is different than other freshmen. That’s why we’ve designed a special orientation program. The program for Fall 2024 will be held on Friday, Aug. 9, 2024.
  • Priority Registration Each Semester: Course selection is an important part of setting students up for success, and the earlier you are able to choose your classes, the better. Windward Scholars are given the opportunity to select and register for classes on the first day of registration.

Membership in the Windward Scholars program is by invitation only. Students who have received an invitation and would like to accept must confirm participation by registering for Windward Scholars Orientation by May 1.
