ADMISSION STEPS

1. Apply Online: Complete the admissions application.
2. Application Fee: Pay the $25 non-refundable application fee or upload an acceptable fee waiver as you submit your application. We accept waivers from College Board, ACT, and NACAC for qualifying freshman applicants.
3. Submit your high school transcript: Coastal Georgia accepts transcripts through electronic transcript services such as GA Futures, Parchment, or Scoir. Please do not fax or email transcripts. You may mail your transcripts or drop them off in person. They will be considered official as long as they remain in the original, sealed envelope from the school.
   1. Haven’t graduated? Send us your current transcript. You will be requested to send your final transcript with graduation date once you’ve completed high school.
4. Verification of lawful presence: If you want to be considered for in-state tuition or receive financial aid, please submit your verification of lawful presence.
5. Check your admissions status: This status will reflect information we have in our records. You will be able to learn of your admissions decision as soon as it is made without having to wait for an official email or admissions letter.
6. Complete the FAFSA: Start the financial aid process to determine financial aid eligibility. Learn more about financial aid and scholarships here.

ADMISSION APPLICATION & DOCUMENTS DEADLINE

To gain regular admission, all applicants graduating from high school within the last five years must have:

• Graduated from an accredited high school or attained a state-issued high school equivalency diploma.
• Achieved a minimum high school grade point average of 2.0 in Required High School Curriculum (RHSC) courses.

Required High School Curriculum:

All freshman applicants must satisfactorily complete the required subject units of the Required High School Curriculum (RHSC)* and graduate with a RHSC/CPC diploma.

The complete list of courses than can be used to satisfy the RHSC requirements can be found on the Staying On Course document.

*If admitted but requirements aren’t met prior to enrollment, all RHSC deficiencies must be completed before a student earns 30 semester hours.

*If you are not graduating from a Georgia high school, we will accept the courses based on your state’s graduation standards.

Test Scores:

Test scores are not required for freshman admissions. Test scores may be requested for some course placement and for some scholarships. If you choose to submit standardized test scores, they should be sent directly from the College Board or the ACT.

Students who have less than a 2.0 GPA or do not meet the RHSC curriculum should submit ACT or SAT scores along with their high school transcript to be considered for admissions through use of the Freshman Index. The catalog contains further information about the Freshman Index.

Applicants from accredited home study/homeschool programs should meet regular admission criteria listed in the Freshman Admissions Requirement section. Home study programs accredited or approved by the following agencies are acceptable:

• Accrediting Commission for Independent Study
• Association of Christian Schools International
• Georgia Accrediting Commission
• Georgia Association of Christian Schools
• Georgia Private School of Accrediting Commission
• Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools
• New England Association of Schools and Colleges
• North Central Association of Colleges and Schools
• Northwest Accreditation Commission Southern Association of Colleges and Schools
• Western Association of Schools and Colleges
• Southern Association of Schools and Colleges

Applicants graduating from non-accredited homeschools or high schools must meet freshman admissions requirements and shall submit a home study/homeschool packet that includes a course summary sheet, course portfolio, applicable test scores and a Declaration of Intent to Home School as filed with the appropriate regulatory authority. Upon evaluation of the packet, additional documentation may be required to further evaluate course content and completion of the RHSC units.

Freshman applicants who have not graduated with a high school diploma must have earned qualifying scores on the GED, HiSET, or TASC and would have graduated in the past five years.

• Submit high school transcripts, even though a diploma may not be earned.
• If you earned a GED, request a transcript of passing scores.
• If you earned qualifying scores on the HiSET test, request a copy of your HiSET scores here.
• If you earned qualifying scores on the TASC exam, request a copy of your TASC scores here. (New York only)

Equivalency tests will only be recognized by the College after a student’s cohort has graduated.

Upon admission, you may be required to take the ACCUPLACER test, a computerized placement test that measures skills in math, reading, and writing. Learn more information about the Accuplacer and sign-up to take the test on the Testing Center page.

Adult Learners (out of high school for a minimum of 5 years) must have graduated from an accredited high school or qualified high school equivalency program to be classified as a Non-Traditional Student.

As a newly accepted freshman, complete the following steps to confirm your enrollment and claim your spot.

1. Register for orientation (required for all new freshmen)
2. Apply for housing and pay your deposit (if applicable)
3. Apply for scholarships and financial aid (optional)
