Brunswick, GA – The College of Coastal Georgia Office of International Initiatives and the Division of Student Affairs are partnering again this spring with the Robert S. Abbott Race Unity Institute, Inc. to produce the 4th annual International Festival, one of the most popular community events held on the Brunswick campus. This year’s festival will occur on Friday, April 24 from 2-7 p.m. with Kidfest activities beginning at 4:30 p.m. Admission is free. The CultureEXPO, marketplace booths, global food bazaar, and performances will be staged around and inside the Southeast Georgia Conference Center.
Entertainment includes the Phil Morrison Trio, an African drummer, Israeli musicians, the Job Corps Steppers, and at 5 p.m., a new Val Salnikov dance production in cooperation with the Jill Stanford Dance Center, “With Dance Around the World.” Salnikov, who is originally from the Kirov Ballet in Russia, is in his third season as a dance instructor with Jill Stanford, according to the dance center’s website.
College student Ashton Rowland, winner of the March 27th open mic Coastal’s Got Talent held at the Ritz Theatre downtown as part of the campus Spring Fling, will also perform.
The global food bazaar will feature the College’s Culinary Arts program as well as Island Jerk, Nakorn Thai, Taste of the Philippines and Yellow Deli. Wake Up Coffee, Olive Affairs and Earthly Expressions are among the Marketplace vendors
