Ashley Barnes, assistant professor of Nursing at the College of Coastal Georgia, was selected as a Volunteer Item Reviewer for the National Council of State Boards of Nursing Licensure Examination (NCLEX®). Barnes was approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing and selected by the NCSBN to participate on the NCLEX item development panel of subject matter experts, August 26-29 in Chicago.
The NCLEX-RN® and NCLEX-PN® examinations identify those candidates who demonstrate minimal competence to practice nursing at the entry level. Passing the NCLEX exam is one of the requirements necessary for attaining a nursing license/registration in the United States, participating Canadian provinces, and territories. Barnes was selected on the basis of her clinical specialty and nursing expertise.
