Tanisha Clarke and Ja'Lisya Glover have signed for the College of Coastal Georgia's Women's Basketball upcoming 2018-19 season.

BRUNSWICK, Ga. – Coastal Georgia women’s basketball head coach Roger Hodge has announced the additional of two more signees for the upcoming 2018-19 season. The pair – who are a junior college transfer and an All-State selection – join four other student-athletes as part of Hodge’s latest signing class.

Tanisha Clarke
Junior || 5-9 || Forward
Hometown: Coral Springs, Fla.
Previous School: Broward College

  • Played first two collegiate seasons at Broward College.
  • Averaged 5.0 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game as a sophomore.
  • Named Second-Team All-Southern Conference during 2017-18 season.
  • Scored a career-high 13 points against ASA Miami on Jan. 30, 2018.
  • Averaged 4.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game as a freshman, playing in 24 of Broward’s 27 games.
  • Graduated from Coral Springs High School.

Hodge on Forbes: “Coach McCormick described Tanisha as a player with a wide array of basketball skills. That description is very accurate. Tanisha is extremely versatile on both ends of the floor. On offense, she has the ability to take people off the dribble with her quickness is long enough to post people up as well. On defense, she can guard anyone that you need her to. Tanisha’s athleticism and rebounding will be a huge asset to our team as well. We were looking for an athlete that could provide us multiple options and she does just that. I am very excited to have Tanisha Clarke in the Mariner Family!”

Brian McCormick (Broward College women’s basketball head coach) on Clarke: “Tanisha is a great teammate who will do whatever possible to help her team win. She’s tough, unselfish and hard-working, and makes any team better.”

Ja’Lisya Glover
Freshman || 5-4 || Guard
Hometown: Douglasville, Ga.
Previous School: New Manchester High School

  • Averaged 10.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 4.0 steals per game.
  • Named Georgia Coaches Association AAAAAA North All-State First Team.
  • First-Team Region 5-AAAAAA selection.
  • Earned First-Team All-Douglas County honors.

Hodge on Glover: “I am so proud to have Ja’Lisya Glover in our program. She is an outstanding student and a super kid. Ja’Lisya’s game has grown over time and she has a tremendous understanding of how to play the point guard position. Her defensive prowess is a great fit for our style of play. I look forward to seeing Ja’Lisya grow into the player I know she can be as a Mariner.”

Vincent Parks (New Manchester High School Head Coach) on Glover: “Ja’Lisya was the leader of our team. She was the team leader in assist and steals and 3rd on our team in scoring. In her final season, she stepped up for us and became the leader that we expected her to be, controlling every aspect of our team on the floor. She was also our best on-ball defender. Ja’Lisya was a very valuable part of our State Tournament team.”
