The mission of the College of Coastal Georgia’s Testing Center is to uphold and conserve an atmosphere conducive to providing a professional testing environment when administering various comprehensive examinations, national examinations, and proctoring services. The College seeks to carry out this mission in the most professional manner.
The services provided for students, faculty, staff, the community, and surrounding areas will always be rendered with an attitude of excellence. Tests are administered in the form of paper-based tests, computer-based tests, and internet-based tests. The center is a member of the Georgia College Testing Association, and has adopted many of the National College Testing policies on testing.
The purpose of this site is to communicate the procedures for scheduling and administering tests while also making certain that all parties know and understand the expectations of the Testing Center. These guidelines are intended to assure that the center always maintains and observes the highest level of standards. We further vow that all testing will be consistent, secure, and fair, with marginal distractions.
The ACT Residual Exam is a 3.5-hour, standardized exam. It measures english, mathematical, reading, and science skills that students have developed and need to be academically successful. The College of Coastal Georgia requires that all students entering into a transfer degree program who have been out of high school less than five years have ACT scores.

The on-campus Residual ACT test is the ACT which is administered at College of Coastal Georgia for on-campus administration on dates set by the college. If you plan to apply to any other institution, you must take the National ACT. The Residual ACT is used solely for acceptance to the College of Coastal Georgia. This score may not be accepted by another institution for admission. This test may only be taken once every 60 days.

ACCUPLACER is a suite of computerized tests that determines your knowledge in math, reading and writing as you prepare to enroll in college-level courses. The results of the assessment, in conjunction with your academic background, goals and interests are used by academic advisors to place you into a college course that meets your skill level.

This exam is given to students planning to attend the College of Coastal Georgia (including Dual Enrollment students). In addition, we also provide this exam as a courtesy for other colleges for a fee. A voucher from your school is needed before you can schedule to take the exam remotely at our testing facility.
State ID is required for admissions to the exam. If you are taking a remote ACCUPLACER exam or retaking the exam, please make sure to bring your payment receipt. Students taking the ACCUPLACER remotely for another school will need to bring the voucher number. You must contact your school to obtain the voucher number before you can schedule to take the test at our testing facility.
There is no fee to take the ACCUPLACER one time. There is a nominal fee of $20 for remote exams and a nominal fee of $25 for College of Coastal Georgia students needing to retake the exam. Please note, you must wait a total of 30 days before you can schedule to retake the exam. All payments are to be paid in the Bursars office (located in the Andrews Center on the first floor).
eCore – short for electronic core-curriculum – allows University System of Georgia (USG) students the opportunity to complete the first two years of their collegiate careers in an online environment. eCore courses are taught entirely online, except for the occasional proctored exam. They are designed, developed, taught and supported by faculty and staff from the USG.
Make sure to study for each exam with the assignments you are required to complete for complete for class and the textbook.

You must visit your GoView course in order to set up your proctored exam via SmarterProctoring. For more information, please see your course syllabus or the Course Resources Content module.
Each of the exams (Georgia History or Georgia Constitution) consists of 25 multiple choice questions. A student must make a score of 60% to pass. Students are allowed to keep retaking the test until they pass the exam.
Study materials are located behind the circulation desk at the Gould Memorial Library. They can also be found via Galileo. In addition, students have the options of purchasing said books on Amazon.
A 1975 act of the Georgia Legislature established the requirement that students at state-supported colleges and universities must successfully complete coursework and/or pass examinations in the United States and Georgia constitution in order to earn a degree. Students automatically satisfy this requirement if they pass POLS 1101 at the College of Coastal Georgia or any other UGS institution. Students who have transferred into the College of Coastal Georgia form outside the University System might get credit for POLS 1101 if the student took an equivalent course elsewhere and so met the requirement concerning the US Constitution. However, that student must demonstrate proficiency in the Georgia Constitution by passing the College’s Georgia Constitution Examination.
There is a $5 proctoring fee per exam that must be paid in the Bursars Office (located in the Andrews Center) before testing. You are required to make the payment each time that you test. Please double check with the academic advisor or a member in the Office of the Registrar to determine which exam you will need to take.
Please contact the Bursar’s Office at 912-279-5746 to satisfy Coastal Georgia fee requirements for this exam ($5.oo/per test every time that it is administered). Students who cannot physically complete their Legislative Test on campus have the option of completing the process remotely. You will simply contact a Testing Center near you. As a reference, please use this list of USG and TCSG institutions to assist you with your efforts. Once locating a center, you and the Testing Center will complete the Proctor’s Request form and return it to the College’s Testing Center prior to your appointment to determine if it is an approved site or location. Since you are not testing on campus, please be advised that you are responsible for all fees.
On the day of the appointment, please show up with a picture identification (current), and any fee requirements. The College’s Testing Center will evaluate the results of your test once it has been returned, and notify the candidate if they have successfully satisfied this requirement. If the process has not been satisfied, then you will contact the Testing Center to reschedule another appointment.
Independent Testing/Distance Learning is when you are taking exams through another college or university. The Testing Center is pleased to proctor exams for Independent Study students.

Anyone is welcome to use the College of Coastal Georgia as a proctor site for his/her exams. The College offers services for anyone needing to test in Glynn County (and surrounding areas) for other universities or organizations as a community service and as a participant in the Consortium of College Testing Centers. Students participating in distance learning programs, correspondence programs and professionals needing to be tested in order to receive certification in their field may be able to have their test proctored at our facility.

Test will be proctored during scheduled Testing Center hours (Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Please note that you must be completed with your exam at least 15 minutes before closing) so make sure to arrive a few minutes early for check in. The Testing Center will not begin any new testing activities one hour prior to closing. Arrangements must be made by the examinee to have the exam sent to the College of Coastal Georgia. Please keep in mind that most institutions require a 10-day advance notice to ensure delivery of the exam before your test date.

Make-up exams are exams that you may have missed during a regular scheduled class. Some faculty will allow you to make up exams in the Testing Center.
Make sure to study for each exam with the assignments you are required to complete for complete for class and the textbook.

The Georgia Assessments for the Certification of Educators (GACE) is Georgia’s state-approved educator certification assessment program. These computer-delivered assessments have been developed by the GaPSC and Educational Testing Service (ETS). The purpose of the GACE assessment is to help the GaPSC ensure that candidates have the knowledge and skills needed to perform the job of an educator in Georgia’s public schools.

This exam is for anyone going into the Education field. This exam is also for anyone that needs additional credits and/or certifications to continue teaching. Please visit the GACE website for additional information.
ETS requires you to have your picture taken and require our facility to do a body scan with a metal detector wand. In addition, you are not allowed to wear hats, loose fitting jackets, watches, sunglasses or Fitbit watches while testing.
Please note: If you refuse to allow us to administer a body scan, you will not be allowed to test.
You are not required to pay a proctor fee for this exam. The payment was completed during the online registration via GACE. Find registration assistance here.
Candidates are able to register and pay either online at the ETS website or by phone at ETS customer service. Registration is ONLY made via the GACE website and not through the Testing Center. Additional information about GACE testing is available on their website.
The HESI A2 is the admissions test for the nursing program. It replaces the previously used TEAS exam. The HESI A2 exam is 4 hours long and will consist of the following categories:

The student is allowed to take the exam two times within two years. Students will have to wait 30 days before re-testing.
There is a $64 non-refundable proctoring fee that must be paid in the Bursars office (located in the Andrews Center). It is very important to keep your payment receipt in order to book your appointment. Payment must be made before you can be added to the testing center’s calendar. Please provide your receipt number when making your appointment.
NO personal items are allowed in the testing room. This includes hats, book bags, purses, sunglasses, cell phones, iPad/tablets, personal computers, watches, Fitbit watches, etc. Scratch paper, pencils and calculator will be provided by the Testing Center.

CLEP offers exams to help students satisfy prerequisites for degree programs with just one exam per subject. No class meeting, no homework and no projects. All that one must do is study, apply, pay, and take the exam. Students are allowed to take up to 20-hours of credits by examination. Please note that these 20-hours are inclusive of any AP credits awarded. In addition, if you registered or took a class you are not allowed to take the CLEP exam. The only method to ensure success is to study. To assist in preparation, the Testing Center has the CLEP Official Study Guide, 28th edition for you to view at our facility. This study guide cannot leave our testing facility. You can review the study guide in our waiting area but must return it before departing the testing center. Additional resources can be purchased for download from CollegeBoard web site. Study guides can be purchased in textbook format or downloaded. However, the CollegeBoard website is not the only source for study materials. Many successful test takers have reported using REA, Cliff Notes AP, Comex Systems, or Kaplan study guides to help them prepare.
Anyone with knowledge of the core classes listed above can take the CLEP exam. Please make sure to give yourself time to study and prepare, using the materials listed above before you take this exam. Also, before taking a CLEP exam, make sure you can get credit. Always check with your program to make sure they will accept CLEP credits before you take the exam.
You must visit CollegeBoard and create your account prior to registering for the exam, this allows you to purchase your exam voucher which you will need to schedule your appointment. Payment for the exam should be made before you come to take the exam in the Testing Center. Please note, the exam fee was increased to $87 by CollegeBoard. This was brought into effect on July 1st, 2018. In addition to the $95 payment that is to be paid via CollegeBoard there will be a $15 administration fee that you will have to pay in our Bursars office (located in the Andrews Center). You will be required to show your receipt of payment in order to take the exam.
